I read once from a supposed expert that said.......Pit bulls are like a grenade, they are no problem until their pin is pulled and then all he** breaks loose. The problem is that a pit bull can pull its own pin and no one knows when that will happen.

A pitbull attack? Couldn't be. I was told they're completely harmless. Must be some mistake.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Those of you that don't like pitties, do you also blame the gun in the shooting or the shooter?

I have never seen a gun escape the yard to attack someone.

My daughter and SIL got a pit bull a few years ago. I was unhappy when I heard the news but it has actually been a very nice dog if it knows you. If it doesn't know someone it bolts right up to them and scares the beegeebers out of them. This is in their house; if they are out for a walk it is docile but it has been attacked by other dogs. It is about 80 lbs of pure muscle and quick as a cat.

"If you do not own a Pit, you quite frankly, do not know what you are talking about."

    This! ^^^

And yet many believe they know it all...

I don't 'know it all' but I train really big, really fierce dogs so I do know a bit.

Folks, I raise, own, and train dogs that have been bred for centuries as livestock guard dogs. There is NO ACEPTANCE for animals that show aggression toward humans under any circumstance (other than in protecting their flock).

The owners of these vicious animals should be held accountable for the actions of their uncontrolled dogs. They should never see another 'easy day' in their lives. NO EASY DAYS--EVER. Give them a sentence they will remember forever.

And those who claim pitbulls are safe are just fooling themselves. There's an underlying gene/tendency that can pop up at any time-- just my honest opinion.

"There's an underlying gene/tendency that can pop up at any time-- just my honest opinion."

Wouldn't that be in all dogs? They all came from wolfs didn't they?

I'll agree with you on the owners are at fault, but any breed will be "vicious" if trained to be.

Opinions are not facts, including my own and I can remember before the pities got the bad rap, it was Dobermans and several other types of dogs that were "bad" it's all a matter of what propaganda you believe...
