Is there a trick to removing the front screw, where the upper and lower hinge, so as to separate the upper and lower receivers? It appears that one should accomplish the task with two screwdrivers, but that isn't working.
Thanks!

This guy just uses the two screw drivers. He does however remove the front pin first, with the rifle cradled in a rest. He doesn't pivot the gun open.
Other than that I'd suggest some penetrating oil. Good luck. Let us know the trick you used when you get it.
maybe some DA used locktite ?
from the internet
For normal cleaning, it is not necessary to separate the receiver halves.
If you want them separated, just unscrew the screw on the safety lever side of the receiver, then push the remaining half of the pin out from the safety side of the receiver toward the mag release button side of the receiver.
There is no "just' anything on this rifle. Using screwdrivers on both ends, I cannot get it to budge.
Pour some oil on it and tap the screw head with a brass hammer and let it set overnight. If that doesn't work, stick a hot soldering on the screw for a few seconds. then tap it again and try to back it out.
Remember, lefty loosey, righty tighty.
