of me receiving my first real firearm that was all mine. Mom and Dad got me a Savage 220L-E single shot 12 gauge for Christmas in 1972. It was too big for me, and kicked like a mule, but by golly it was mine! I still have it, though it needs some serious work.

That's the plan. The problem is that the 220 is the current model number for a bolt gun. Mine is an old single shot. To make matters worse there were a lot of different variations, thus the 'E' at the end.

it was not Christmas present, but I still have a Ithaca 410 singe shot I was given when I was about 12 yrs old
