Who here has seen this one? I now own a copy. I must say, it's one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Locally it's in the theatres again on re-release.
Now, here's your chance to mention all the aviation/Navy errors. π
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

I have not. Hope this helps.
Saw part of it on a free showtime weekend, was not impressed, but will probably watch all of it when it is "free" again on HBO.
the Wife and i saw it twice , also purchased it on CD and if it comes back around , probably will go and see it again
Did you like it ?
I never saw the first one. Don
I am much moved by your helpful helping.

Saw it. Didnβt expect much, but it was actually pretty goodβ¦β¦..except for that weird beach football nonsense. π€’
Good movie..
I was skeptical but it was better than I thought
so yes I liked it

It was entertaining and I liked how they worked in parts of the original movie. However, using almost the same plot (loosing your wingman) as the 1st movie seemed dumb to me.
πI was surprised by the amounts of snow and evergreen trees at the target area in Iran.π
A young man I know that is a 'targeteer' for the Air Force explained to me that the bombs they used in the movie could not have been used the way they were depicted. Something about the extreme G forces shown in the movie would have jammed the bombs to their racks in real life. The limit is actually something like 4 G's rather than what was shown in the movie.
There are apparently lots of "BS" flying errors. In both versions. Navy guys can spot even more than an AF guy like myself, but that's one reason of many that I haven't seen either one.
It was an OK movie, not the best by any stretch. Watched it free online. At least it wasnt too woke like 99% of new "movies" now a days.
not a tom cruise fan, so won't give money to see anything he is in.....
That was the last movie I saw in a theatre..........took my daughter, who never saw the original. I thought it was good and she enjoyed it too.
They took a lot of "license" with reality, but it was entertaining. Kind of cool that most of the cockpit scenes were filmed in actual flight.............even if the actors were back-seaters filmed to look like pilots.
Top Gun was a great movie. It is a Hollywood movie, not a tutorial on how to fly a fighter.
I haven't seen the second one yet.
Saw it on Epix the other night, really liked it !
Your point is valid, allen. Just as Gunsmoke was not a tutorial on gun handling.
But both of them still make knowledgeable people cringe.
As much as I enjoyed the original as a kid, I feel almost obligated to watch the sequel.
Rocky , I concur .
My wife wants to see it. Me?, I still don't care.
