I can hear the NCO's screaming from 50 miles away.

Marine Corps battalion has lost track of one of its pistols. The 2nd Marine Division’s 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines confirmed that a Sig Sauer M18 handgun as well as two magazines for it are missing at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. It’s the second time in the last five years that a firearm has vanished from 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines.
Leroy Jethro Gibbs is on the way!!
Hey Sam06, does this remind you of the missing NVG story??

I can here the commie/libs screaming "See, the military can't even be trusted with guns!! It is time we disarm the military!" The commie/libs will not be content until we are all as helpless as sheep being lead to slaughter.😠
Well this aint good
It happens in all the branches from time to time. Sometimes intentional, most of the time accidental or just the result of not following proper procedures. The investigation will tell.
I will say, though, on a base as big as Lejeune, there will always be issues. When I was stationed up that way, I was always hearing about idiots trying to make a buck by selling their NVGs, armor, and such. The NCIS types take that stuff pretty seriously.
Is Saigon Sams still in business?

Man, the last time I was in there was back in the 1970's and I was looking for sleeping bags.

I would guess it is all in paperwork error.
Yep I was an instructor at infantry training school, those privates would take ther 782 gear the first pass they got and head right out the gate to saigon sams and sell it for beer money. I was in supply for a while and it was a pain in the rear when a company graduated and at least 1/3 of the gear would be missing and they had to do the paperwork on each private to get them to pay for the missing gear.........
I wonder how tightly the Space Force controls laptops.
When I was overseas, one of our 6-71 GM engines was stolen.
Never did hear if it was recovered.
We lost several jeeps and at least one deuce and a half.
Ricci, I believe you're thinking of a bygone era. The new Marine Corps is only concerned with whether or not your dress's hemline is crooked.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Mr. P is on a roll.
'In the old days', there was a LOT of shuffling involved in meeting TO&E inspections. I heard a transport unit guy talking about 4-5 deuce and a halfs being driven around for days and counted in several units' inventory.
As a once USAF crewchief, I could not believe all the complete tool bags I would see while vistiting buddies at their off base homes!
