Anyone know when the Winchester Super-X ammo in the white box with red and orange stripes was discontinued? I'm thinking early 90's, but not sure. Below is an example of the box.
For clarification, I'm looking for an approximate date on the Silvertip handgun ammo.

IMHO, Silvertips dried up in early 2000s. My father-in-law LOVED them. I bought some for him, maybe 2005.
I WISH they would bring them back. He was correct, they did a GREAT job on white tail deer from a 270.
I have a couple boxes that I kept, just for memories.
Yup early 2000s
Thanks for the replies gents. i have a few boxes of Silvertips, as well as a few boxes of non-Silvertips in the same boxes. Just trying to reduce the clutter.....
Those type boxes were produced between 1983 and 1996. I call them the 'Rider' boxes.
Give us the date code and we can tell you the exact day they were made.
l have been shooting prairie dogs with Winchester White Box ammo for 20 plus years. Great ammo and accuracy with LOTS of speed at a resonable price. EX--- Win White Box 223Rem/45gr JHP @3600fps!!. 22-250 45gr JHP@4000fps. I personally know folks who PULL these 45gr JHPs to load in other .224 caliber rds because Winchester refuses to sell them as a component
I was thinking it was mid-'90s, and ironically, the last box I had was .35 Remington, my old Model 8 Remington loved the stuff. Ended up reloading the brass 3 or 4 times.
The last box of Super-X I had was some .375 H&H, 300gr Silvertips. A bit older, though. Same box as below. Not sure when they were made.
