Dry cracked hands

Does anyone else have a problem with your hands cracking in the winter??? My hands look atrocious. I put O'keifs and Utter balm on them, and it doesn't do any good. I even have my wife put hand creamer, with a mixture of Vaseline on them, and a glove at night. They crack and bleed. They hurt to the point where I can't pick anything up. Can't wait for summer, so my hands heal up.

You're already doing everything I would recommend, except for one thing. No Vaseline, it will lock moisture out.
I had a problem years ago, to a much lesser degree. I found covering the cracks with a band-aid resulted in quicker healing rather than leaving them open to the air. Good luck.
Try Carmex, the only good thing my ex ever taught me. Stuff works wonders.....
Use superglue to glue them.shut Cornhuskers lotion works good too .
Same problem here. i used Zims crack cream years ago, good stuff, but haven't seen any in years. Now I just put neosporin on the cracks and it seems to work well. I also use avon moisture therapy lotion, (intensive healing & repair) and don't have nearly as much trouble with the problem since i started using it.
Stokolan cream works wonders. If you can't find that Aveeno eczema therapy works well too.
Get a humidifier & raise the humidity to 40% in your house.
when I worked out side it was so common and frustrating and painful some times
like you I could not come up waith a good solution I remember trying so many different products but nore seemed to be a sure win
good luck I feel your pain
Bag Balm.
I learned to wear gloves whenever possible.
Drink a LOT more water. Minimum of one full gallon a day, more if you sweat a lot.
Ditto on what Wild Turkey said. And if you wear jeans, keep your hands out of the front pockets. Hang your keys and knife from your belt.
DRINK WATER, bag balm at night, gloves while outside, and Tree Hut body butter first thing in AM. I know about same as above but it sure did me wonders. Try things until you find what works for you. LOTS of stuff out there.
Super glue for those small ones that really hurt and bleed Has not killed me yet and i am 80 so guess it's ok. ----Ray
I remember the super glue at first I was sceptical how it would effect any one. But used it a few times some years later I seen where even hospitals / doctors use it to seal cuts .
My youngest son tellls me at work it's a real common use item .
he works at a hog farm and thd people use it on them self and the pigs
I have to sleep wearing some latex gloves with lotion in them some nights in order to be able to work or function the next day
put lots of lotion in the gloves and it will help
Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream, it requires a Dr. RX but it works for me.
Do what Wild Turkey said. All day. Only take them off to eat. If that doesn't work, start looking at diet or medications as a factor. As far as skin cracks go, I used to get them bad and I finally started using super glue gel. I put it on and gave it a few minutes to dry and it would last 4 or5 hours.
I forgot to mention the possibility of chemical exposure.
stay on top of it at the beginning of winter, once they crack you're done behind the battle.
Don't get old. Vanicream and or Aquaphor.
More water and less booze
🙀That could never be a good idea!
Bag Balm has come out with a bunch of new products in recent years, and I can attest to their Bag Balm Moisturizing Lotion with Shea Butter product! It is not like the hard to rub in lanolin greasy stuff in the square cans either!
I have been using it since I had both my hands operated on back in December. It has left my hands soft and free from cracking. It is also free of any fragrance (no stink) which is a big plus.
Back when I was slinging packs and throwing hitches on sometimes multiple pack strings on a daily basis using sisal lash ropes.
these sisal ropes sucked all the moisture out one’s hand’s causing cracking bleeding from every spot my fingers and thumbs bent and also the crease right below the little fingers, and not much helped until a old packer from Montana told me to take wash basin with water hot enough that you could just keeps yours hands and add a cup full of Clorox bleach and soak until the water was cooled, 10 minutes or so, keeping yours hands submerged.
I was skeptical, but after trying everything from bag balm to Vaseline to no avail, I gave it a go.
After a few sessions, the the improvement was almost magical.
Give it a try for few evenings and tell us your results,
the other methods are good for maintenance, but this method has healing properties.
Mule
Thanks mule, I'm gonna give that a whirl.
C'mon we don't wanna go gettin' drastic here..........
Dry crack heads can be brought back to life and vitality by administering small doses. Not a bolus.....but small doses over time.....lol
Did I read that correctly, dry crack heads?🤔
Harbor Freight to the rescue - this stuff is amazing!
That door you just kicked in was locked for your protection - not mine.
Try only washing your hands in cold water.
