Should be fun with a foot of snow and more coming.

Helped Dad carry many a newborn from "moms" hiding place in the snow to warm shelter.
Them fellers get heavy in deep snow.
Don't miss the carrying part, hot days baling hay, and going around the fence, but sure miss Dad.
Bad words in the middle of the night, "son the cows are out".
I think the cows would wait for the nastiest weather possible to calve.
That will not be fun, especially at 3:00 AM!
They sure are tough little critters. Seen 5 new calves on the ground around the middle of November and their first night was -25 with winds gusting to 40. I couldn't begin to count the amount of new calves I've seen in the last week....
The last few years we had cows, I timed week 2 & 3 of the 6 week calving season to coincide with college spring break. A set of college boy legs and back was needed some wet, muddy years.
What kind of temperatures are you having??
Good luck guys.
Every time I pass my neighbor's place, I see more and more new calves in his pasture. He is getting a bumper crop on the ground this year.
Should be a cake walk for you forge.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
