Not me, but my grandson. Going up against kids that have been wrestling 5,8,10 years already. This is only his 3rd. year wrestling. However he has proven himself with his dedication and very hard work to get to compete at state level, beating out kids with more experience. Already very proud of him.

Good luck to him!
Wrestled in H.S. Good but never made it to state. There were 900 kids in my graduating class which didn't help!! Fun stuff.
Good luck to the young man. I hope he has your grit.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Tonight my Oklahoma State Cowboys are wrestling them Sooners.
Weeeeeee'll see.........(edit: we drubbed those guys......26 to 6.....btw, that makes 17 Bedlam matches in a row 😁)
Good luck to your grandson, Joe.
Wishing the best of luck to your grandson!
Thanks guys
Best of luck
That is a brutal sport. For tough guys only, not for sissies.
My grandson is now wrestling in college. I understand the work your grandson has put in to get to State!!
The discipline learned to wrestle at the State/college level is HUGE!! All us big bellied people could sure learn a lot from one of these young men wrestling at a weight of 120 but normal weight is 140!!
I'll bet your grandson is a real good young man. It does help when a kid is to tired to get in trouble!!😁
I wish him all the best at the State Championships!! Just getting to State proves he is a winner!!!!!
In Iowa they have a state wrestling tournament for girls. But they aren't sissies or wimps!
I wrestled 6 years but never made it to state. My son is named after a 3-time state champ from a nearby school, but........
he went out for basketball. 😪
Good luck to your grandson. My grandkids are all girls; seven of them! None of them wrestle, either.
Two of my granddaughters, (grandson's 2 younger sisters) wrestle also
First match- lost by points, 4-2. Was working on a take down to tie it up but just ran out of time.
Second match- Win by a Pin
Yep, me too. Except It's my son instead of Grandson.
Awesome Joe. How old is he???? Wrestling is probably one of the hardest sports, next to MMA. Your grandson must have some real talent. Just the kid you need for dragging out that big deer too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take some pictures and post them. Oakie
The best thing about having kids is their kids😃
Good luck to you guys, @shootuadeal
..And his 3rd. match - is a WIN
State ranks the top 8 wrestlers. He just locked in 8th place with this Win. He wrestles again tomorrow.
Thanks you too. Ours ran yesterday and today. Little shootuadeal ended up 6th. Not bad considering his goal at the beginning of the year was to make it to state.
Yes, just getting to State makes you a Winner in itself. To actually place in the ranks is WOW. Congrats.
What weight class is he in, MJ?
Like 106-110
At Oklahoma State wrestling is KING!!!
In the late 60's I worked the desk at Iba Hall.......the athletic dorm.
The stories I could tell.......about Myron Roderick and his wrestlers. Alpha Males.......EVERY one!!!!
Joe.........a pin in the second round.........impressive!! 😉
I wrestled there my sophomore year! Gotta be a wiry little bugger to compete there. Sounds like he is!
Confirmed height/ weight with his mom (lol). He is a sophomore, 5'7", at 113 lbs. 3rd. yr wrestling.
Funny, my kid is sophomore at 113.
First match this morning was a tough one. Lost by points, but he didn't make it easy for the other guy.
It's done and over. He took ,defended, and finished in 8th. place in the State. Very proud of him.
After only 3 years in, 8th is nothing to sneeze at! Good for him!
Thank you.
This is a great accomplishment... Congratulations to all !!!!
Thank you
Nice work!
Thank you
Tough as nails.........
Joe.........well done to your young man!
I feel your pride Joe! Congrats to that young man! Well done!
Thank you
What state does he wrestle in?
