Not much of a Nascar fan anymore but I had a long week and needed to slow down so I watched the race yesterday.It was pretty boring but what I did notice that I never saw any blown engines,The cars were running as fast on the last lap as the first lap.Looks like advanced engineering these days have created bullet proof engines.

all the cars are cookie cutter clones I have no onterest any more but was a huge fan for some time the gang at work it gave us something to talk about and get excited to see but that went out also
they are limited on HP and so many things its become a sponsorship Prade for years
just after Dale S died we just stopped watching and had lost interest before his passing
engines included I do not remember the last engine blow up in Nascar . better material better tolerances every one has a dyno and specialty Eng shop and computers decide what th ebest RPM to run and avoid
really every part on the car is made and machined just for a certain track
the days of run what you brung died off 50 yrs ago at least 😁
I don't think I saw the any Hudson Hornets in the race.
That was a car that was really ahead of the times!
NASCAR died when Dale passed away.
Cars are basicaly the same except for maker's logo.
Thru the 80's and up to the 99 race I didn't miss a race at Daytona both the 500 and the Firecracker haven't been back since
I recorded the race because I wanted to get some things done during daylight and could watch the race after dark.
Took a break and turned on the race to see how it was going.
As I sat down they cut to side-by-side race/commercial and I counted at least 6 commercials while they racer coverage showed the wreck and the cleanup. It was almost cleaned up by the time they went back to live commentary.
Then I got another break with 4 laps to go so I got to watch the "Big one" and the "overtime" wrecks.
Saved me a bunch of time watching the rest of the affair.
Our Eagles had a big party but it was the one Sunday a month I always work. I stopped to find out I had Aric Almirola in the pool. If I had any idea the race was still on when I got done working I would have went back to the Aerie.

Right guys. "The car you step down into" I think the advertising phrase went. Fast and handled well for it's time & all from a flat head 6. I remember "Twin H Power" also. Darn, I'm old!
I haven't watched for the last couple of seasons. This year, I bought two tickets to the Talladega 500 on April 23. First time I will be going there. The only reason I am going, is because my friend lives there and we are going to see him on vacation.

I haven't watched any car races since Richard Petty retired. Strangely enough, I seem to be getting along just fine.

I heated up a slice of pizza, reached in the frig and got a cold beer, settled down in the recliner and turned on the race. When I woke up, the pizza was cold, the beer was hot, and the race was over. All in all, a good day I would say.

I accidently clicked on the 500 race few days ago, looked like the track was smaller around and no banks. I think they should reverse direction every once in awhile.
Did not stay on channel long enough to look for Brandon but I think he was in Ukrain.
