thunderboltthunderbolt Member Posts: 6,041 ✭✭✭

Smith & Wesson .38 S&W Special U.S. Service CTG revolver - Revolvers at GunBroker.com : 97306876

My customer was not certain of the model. I think it is a Hand Ejector. Barrel is marked .38 S&W Special, U.S.

Service CTG. Serial number is 22392. Any help appreciated.

Yes, an early hand ejector. I don't have my S&W resources here but I believe that is a Model of 1902 or something like that. The model that went on to world-wide fame as the Military and Police model (M&P). The U.S. service round at that time was the .38 Long Colt and was the worst caliber the U.S. ever had. But the gun could fire the .38 Short Colt, the .38 Long Colt and the .38 Special.
