I was shocked that Kickapoo Joy Juice is still being produced. I remember that it was introduced in 1965 as a direct competitor of Mountain Dew.
I was under the impression Kickapoo Joy Juice died a quick death but it is still popular in some Asian countries. Who knew??

Don't remember ever seeing it marketed around here. I did once find a bottle of Real Wild West Sarsaparilla at an off the beat'n path party store. Stuff tasted exactly like Root Beer to me. I was young and disappointed.
I do but never drank it.
I was in the musical Lil Abner, so I remember it well.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Never heard of it!!!! Was it something that was only produced for a certain area???? Now I have heard of Billy beer. I even bought a six pack of it once, back in the late 70's
Not sure if I ever saw Kickapoo juice but as kid, I liked Squirt which was a more sourish 7up/mountain dew type of soft drink.
Did a quick search on their site to see if it was available here in Michigan. Looks like I'd have to go to a Cracker Barrel restaurant to get some. At least within a hundred miles of me, only the Cracker Barrel gift shops carry it. To be honest, I never knew it existed other than in the Lil' Abner comic strip. Bob

Never heard of it. Doesn't sound appealing to me either.
"Whats the word? Thunderbird!" Fond memories.
I gave up Sody Pop many years ago and replaced it with Barley Pop! 😁
signed; A northern Michigan Hillbilly
Haven't seen it in years. Tasted like mt dew .also don't see lil Abner in the comics anymore . We had Sadie Hawkins dances when I was in high school circa 1970's
Somewhat surprised the Kickapoo Indian Tribe hasn’t attempted some form of court action.
Have donated to their cause many times at the casino in Shawnee, Okla. ,,,,,,, 🤣
I don't remember who put the thought in my mind, but it's one I'll never forget. For the longest time, as a kid, I thought that's what soy sauce was called.
or purple jesus.......
