Well, got the notice and be darned if I didn't get on the jury after 85 people went through the screening process . Interesting and fulfilling my duty at $15.00 bucks a day. I am wore out after the days and have about 2-3 more left. Wish me strength and may God assist me in the right decision. Thanks.

Well we ended Friday evening with your truly as jury foreperson . We all did our D.D. and with the preliminary vote it was unanimous Guilty, first degree. I did my paperwork on the verdict, escorted back into the courtroom with me carrying the exhibits and had bailiff take the exhibits and verdict to the judge who did the usual questions for the foreperson. After the verdict was read there was some emotions on both sides and this juror was escorted out the side door to the street where I told the deputies I was good to go now. Quite an experience and would recommend anyone who gets the chance to do it. IMO.

PS- There was NO doubt we had the correct verdict, NONE.

I was on a vehicular homicide/drunk driving jury once. They showed the autopsy photos right after lunch. Bad day to have chili dogs for lunch.

Kind of gives a new meaning to the words tired and boring doesn’t it. Just be glad your not sequestered.

Hopefully you will one day be able to give the details, but in the interim, you cannot talk about it anywhere without the possibility of a mistrial.

An experience of a lifetime for you Grasshopper. Not one I envy however. I do wish you well and as Lady Rae said above, "May the Lord grant you wisdom."

P.S. Not to dissuade folks from doing their duty, but if you'd have told them during the selection process that you had roasted Possum for dinner last night, pretty sure you'd have been excused! 😁

Just curious, Jury nullification is for the jury to also judge the law the criminally accused is charged under. If the law is unjust then the charges related to it are unjust and therefore the charged is not guilty. In a murder trial if there is a dead body and the accused made that body assue room temperature it seems that a charge of murder is just and justified negating the need for jury nullification....no?

There are often multiple charges in a murder case all of them should be under review.
