Besides........prior to that movie, I can recall a variation that involved a tennis ball and a 10 foot section of garden hose......where a 5/8" scores higher than 3/4". 😬(that's enough outta me🤐)
An Outlaw Wale named Josey was on last night. It has too many iconic lines to even begin quoting. But the passage with the greatest honest meaning is the exchange between Josey and Ten Bears. Simply brilliant.
BTW, the movie with the most poignant relevance to Western history has to be The Ballad of Cable Hogue. Look it up.

Lee Marvin in Cat Ballou at the funeral, "Happy Birthday to you.....
I’m with @Kevin_L on the movie and Mr. Eastwood, but prefer:
”In this world there’s two kinds of people, my friend; those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.”
Don’t be an unarmed sheep.
My old memory recalls a......trailer hitch. 😉

Just saw this one on Grit...
Cowboy (1958)
"I wouldn't go in there for a bottle of whiskey and a red-haired woman to pour it."
We deal in lead, friend.
I have heard and read then many times and some actors turned down the part because of it
here is a classic

"Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway" ------- John Wayne ------ True Grit
One more for Tuco. Especially when he said in a high voice @hold on I’ll be right there !”
"Water Hole Number 3"---"You mean assault with a friendly weapon?"
Robert Duvall delivers some of my favorites. A few:
"You folllow him, I'll hunt you down and kill ya - every mother's son of ya"
John Wayne again, this time in "Big Jake".
Can't SWIM? Hell, the fall will probably kill ya anyway!
