I bet this won't even be mentioned in the media. Salute to all my brothers, with us or gone.
I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

And welcome home to you, Sir.
Thanks for posting.
Thanks for posting RR, so many years ago, but I will never forget.
Thank you to all who served in that hole.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Thanks Rocky I didn't know there was even a Vietnam Veterans Day!!! Welcome home everyone, its been a long time..
Calvin Strong----KIA 11/23/1967--- Mineral, Virginia ( Fredricks Hall ) The pain never goes away. RIP Calvin. ------------------Ray
Thank you all for your service and giving so much
My departed BIL served in viet nam In the lare 1960's he was good man but He had issues the rest of his life over it
RIP Gene aka "Bubby"
D-R, as I tried to say in my second book, nobody comes home from war unchanged.
In my case, that year made me what I am today, be that better or not. There were years when it was definitely not. Writing the books cured that. I hope so. Regardless, there are few days when some sight, some sound, some smell does not burst back and there I am over Cambodia again. It will never end until I do.
God bless you guys. Rocky, I did read an article that was on my news app today, about it being the date that our last troops left Vietnam, in 1973. I cannot even fathom what any of you guys went through, in any war, but especially Vietnam. Oakie
Had my VA doc appointment today and also received a VA email later this afternoon, doc didn't mention it, the VA email said it was the 50th anniversary... I served at the tail end of the era and got the benefits, but did not serve in combat, God bless those that did.
Edit: oh and @4205raymond RIP Calvin, doubt there is a relationship but we share the same last name.
Well, I had a free cheeseburger at the American Legion today. I lost a classmate flying B-66's there. My first flight there was in 1965. We had to make a three engine take-off at Quin Yonn. No maintenance facilities there.
I commended and congratulated the three remaining friends I served with. It has been 50 years since the last of us departed "The Pearl Of The Orient". Were we ever snookered.
Never served was 4f due to deafness. Lost several friends during and since during to it happening . Our town Goldsboro had a ceremony / event honoring Vietnam vets . As an airforce base town it was well attended.
