Three generations of truck drivin'. My Dad did 28 years with Hall's Motor Freight, Sunbury, Pa. My son pulled doubles and triples outa Reno, Nv. with U.P.S. for 34 years and I came in last with only 27 years hauling logs for Sierra Pacific Industries in Northern Kalifornia. All with no chargeable accidents and a binder full of letters of commendation. Now that right there is a lotta listenin' to Country songs on the midnight radio and helpin' four wheelers in distress. Life is good. "18 wheels and a dozen roses". Fast Eddie has retired.

When I was about 20 or so I had the opertintuy to become a Semi driver for a local Pepsi distributor. I Thought about it for a few weeks
I knew most of the fellows and the owner of the company my new wife had worked their since high school this was 1978/ 79
I passed and kept working construction
Honest My temper would not have allowed me to be so forgiving . road rage comes to mind
I'm comin' up on 2 years of retirement, and with everything I've got goin' on right now I'm not sure how I ever had time to work!
Congrats on pullin' the plug!
Congrats Eddie, there ain't no truckin' like tree truckin'. I worked in the logging/timber industry for 25+ years. Done just about every job the industry has. This included log trucking and setting chokers on a high lead yarder, but my main game was timber falling.
On a side note, I know you guys in California are limited to 5 axles/80K GVW. It is rare to see a 5 axle log truck around here anymore. Most all are 6, for 88K GVW, and there are getting to be quite a few 7 and 8 axle set-ups. The 8 axle trucks are good for 105,500.
Congratulations on retirement and having such a good record! As said above now the real work begins...
Congrats!! Good job, well done!! Now enjoy your well earned years ahead!
My son is a tractor trailer driver for UPS.Most are very good at what they do and all are paid very well.
Enjoy retirement...you've certainly earned it.
Congrats on you retirement and new adventures!!! May God bless you with a lot of fun times and relaxation. Oakie
That's alot of miles there,,,
Thank you my friend., best job we ever had! Every once in awhile one of those 7 - 8 axle jobs comes through town empty. I don't know where they are coming from. Always good to hear from you.
Buddy's gonna be one happy pupper when his daddy's home all the time!
Will add
