Charcoal Grill Suggestions

After an unfortunate accident with one of my wife's outdoor cats a few years ago I'm ready to buy another. (grill that is) I have no electricity where the grill will be so I am limited to propane or charcoal. I prefer charcoal but never had had a propane one - though it looks easier to use. It needs to be able to also function as a smoker but needn't be large. It's for just 1 or 2 people. I want something that will last a few years and not be a huge PIA to clean. Any suggestions guys?
It's too late for me, save yourself.

PK charcoal grills are pricey but well regarded by the professional competitive grilling crowd . My son has one and swears by it . Weber makes good kettle style grills which i have used for years .
For propane i suggest a Holland . They don't flare up and can smoke.
WEBER! No question. For your needs, it fits the bill perfectly. I have used mine to smoke ribs, Boston butt, even a brisket, plus grill whatever you want too.
Get the 22in kettle, the 18in does not have enough room for smoking meat(well you can smoke smaller pieces)
They have a good warranty and awesome warranty department too!
IMO, forget the charcoal since it is just for a couple people, got a Weber with side burner for beans with the possum shank and it saves time, messing around and all that. Now the charcoal masters will call me an idiot, dumb, waster of meat, blah, blah, but it works great for me.
Another vote for the 22" Weber. We have had two over the last 30 years, and they do well for us. For convenience we have considered switching to propane numerous times. Just can't let go of the charcoal.
Webers are great, but I prefer the offset barrel type, the big box stores (Lowes) carries some of these and for under $200 you can get the smaller barrel and add the side box. This company also has dual fuel types if you want, I've had propane grills in the past but prefer charcoal/wood smoking and grilling.

Be sure to spend at least $5,000 on it. It won't cook any better, but you'll have genuine bragging rights!
Just kidding. I went to propane decades ago for the convenience and not having to worry about it catching fire afterwards. I learned that replacing the cooking grid with Grill Grates made a HUGE improvement. They make them for most grills, or custom fit. https://www.grillgrate.com/
I have a separate gas smoker, but could do so in my regular grill with a wood box for the chunks.
Wait- Can we get the full story on the cat accident with a grill?😀
Weber charcoal.
Ive got a Weber kettle and a Genesis, but I use the Genesis the most.
Another vote for the Weber kettle grill. They are versital for anything from high heat searing to low and slow smoking.
Avoid anything Traeger or that uses pellets.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
I'd include 'Green Egg' and 'Primo' style bbq's to avoid. We inherited a Green Egg when we got this house and I'm not impressed.
Warbirds uses a green egg so I can not say anything bad about them. Don
yes you can, I know you got it in ya......
