The Great Beer Brouhaha

In case you are interested, here's the full list of 400 brands you need to boycott. Admittedly, almost all of them are found outside the USA, so the real list is shorter. Look at "Global" and "Americas".
Some great beers like PBR, Leinenkuegel, Boston Lager, Killian's Red and more are thankfully not on the list.
I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

I brew the beer I drink.

For what few beers I drink anymore, I had settled on Modelo and Killians. Now I guess I either go with the sheep and cut out Modelo or say the hell with it and drink what I like. I am out of patience with the outrage dujour anyway. Besides I think the Killians Irish Red will clash with tacos!
For those that care, the marketing manager that came up with the disastrous Bud Light debacle has been put on leave and replaced. Wonder if she saw the writing on the wall when the company lost $5 billion in value over this?. Bob
They gave her seven billion reasons to leave.
Tacos? maybe some Tecate or Carta Blanca as a goeswitz, eh? Or MGD if you want to stay domestic.
Well, MGD was an old standby and it is one that Judy likes, so I guess to promote domestic tranquility I can learn to like it again. I hope she appreciates my sacrifices. Bob
Good to see PBR is on the buy list.
Had one this evening at the Messican restaurant.
I like the Negra and have it occasionally at our local Mexican restaurant. More often though I will order the Especial because they have it on tap. I do like draft beer better than bottled beer. Bob
Dos Equis Ambar is pretty good taco beer, too.
Never cared for Bud Lite. Drinking it always made me wonder about what the Clydesdales were doing.
Do you guys know why beer goes through you faster than coffee?
Cuz it doesn’t have to change color on the way down!
Never a fan of boycotts. What was refreshing about the initial rejection of Bud Light was that it was truly grass roots and organic. People saw the add and made a personal decision to not support it. I’ll still have a Kokanee every now and again, but my normal beers are not on the list and I don’t see participating in a blanket boycott of all that is associated with Bud’s parent company.

I remember the time no one bought gas on June 18th., man that was awesome,,,,
My favorite beer is Dos Equis XX
I do not like the taste of beer. I strictly drink bourbon. I did see one beer called Natty Daddy. LMFBO. Maybe they should call it Babies Daddy or Colt 45 II. 😁.
I used to drink two excess, but have gotten a handle on it for the past 10+ years.

Beer is for women and teenagers.. whiskey for me.... now what were we talking about...??.
Shiner Bock.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Doubt I have ever had even five Buds of any equineness in my life.

I've been boycotting Budweiser for the past 27 years. It gives me the poops.
A headache in every can.
does that to me to Jim......
You might think it irrelevant, but if you'd switch to bottled beer, your headache and bowel issues might go away. I have long suggested that the plastic lining in cans causes a lot of issues.
I agree it's too bad more important issues are not delt with similar ways
I did see that A.B. said as huge as they are all the loss of the bud wiser sales may be 1 % of there sales so I am sure they don't like it but over all just a blip on there radar
The six pack my wife and i drink on average total each year spread out one would not make any market difference
were not huge fans of any alcohol just never liked the after taste and my wife has the same thoughts about it
When i was 18 to 22 or so i drank to be social or to just get drunk but i never like the the taste of any of it
But I keep some in the fridge just in case the mood comes around to have one usually with Mexican food
I had just bought a six pack of bud light in bottles a week before all the shtf and think all six are still there
I throw more away for expired date than ever drink
Hang on to them Ditch-Runner. They could be a collectors item some day!
Collectors' items? With a bazillion of them sitting around unsold? Bwahaaahaaa.
I have four sixers of beer on hand: Shiner Bock, Killian's Irish Red, Leinenkugel Summer Shandy, and Molson Lager. Great beers, all.
Rocky, so you are almost out of beer? That would be alcohol abuse...🤣
Haven’t been able to drink Budweiser for almost 40 years.
While deployed in the IO we had a beer day and I traded for about a case of it. Issue was two beers a man, but some didn’t drink and had identified a good number them in advance.
I had 6 the first night, and the formaldehyde in the beer gave me a headache I remember to this day.

Four sixers is about four times what I usually have on hand, Ruger. But this brouhaha has kinda made me crave some. Just not Bud.
Would it not be more appropriate to refer to the current situation as a BrewHaHa?
They don't call it Buttwiper Beer for no reason.
I refrained from BrewHaHa because it was just too easy.
Stella is a beer under the big InBev umbrella along with Bud, if you're trying to stick to the boycott. So is Natty and Modelo. See the link in my first post. If it doesn't matter to you, press on.
Was in the local food lion grocery store yesterday. Saw many cart loads of beer going out the door as usual . Almost none of it bud or bud lite. Took a look at the beer coolers . Didn't look like any of the bud stuff has been moved.
Same at the Dollar store near here. But they were sold out of Steel Reserve.
"I refrained from BrewHaHa because it was just too easy."
I guess for a wordsmith such as yourself that is kind of a 'fish in a barrel' phrase!
The company says that a boycott would have no effect on them. However, I noticed that the VP of Marketing is gone.
As far as really lousy beer, some of my fellow old poops may remember this one-
Baume bau! I doubt Bud has formaldehyde in it because that'd be illegal here. But 33 certainly did back in the day. So did Thai beer and whiskey. When you said you got pickled on that stuff, you MEANT it.
I think the Export version is now free of embalming fluid, and it is actually pretty good beer.
ba mui ba
3 10 3
Your experienced 33 drinker woul hold his thumb over the top of the bottle, swirl the beer around, and hold the bottle up to the light to see if ther was a cigarette butt or other detrius inside.
Your phonetic spelling is better than mine. Ba mui means "three tens" or thirty.
It was plain that the bottler paid little attention to cleaning out returned bottles before filling them again. No telling what you might find in one. Drowned bees were common. We didn't much care; after all, bullets couldn't kill us, right?
A buddy of mine found a cigarette butt in a Rainier pounder. I think that was about '82 or '83. I don't think I've had a Rainier since!
