Same here Joe. Put some fertilizer down last week after the snow melted. Got home today, put 16 gallons of broad leaf killer thru the BP sprayer, and should finish tomorrow, then mow before the rain hits this weekend...
I need to Weed n Feed the back yard. Was dandelion field last year.
I've found that spraying for broad leaf plants is way more effective than any weed-n-feed product. Trimec is probably the best chemy to use for the stuff you don't want in your lawn. Once you get control of your lawn, it's not very hard to manage once the weeds are gone, and the grass fills in with some fertilizer.
Looked it up, like what I read. You sold me, I will try it. Could only find it at Murdoch's and shows plenty in stock.
Ace, Home Depot, Lowes- No listing for product.
@toad67
You all know this weed killer is killing bees and poisoning the water .
Killed all the weeds in my yard and the grub worms ate the roots off the grass and a lot died. I want do that again.
But it's electric powered weed killer. It will be fine.
Mowed last week for the first time; well the wife I should say mowed. Don’t believe we ever really argued, except once, and that was over who was going to mow the lawn, that woman loves mowing the lawn, don’t think I’ve mowed more than a dozen times in the last 15 years. Time we mow the yard, lane and around back along the fences it takes about 5 hours. I get stuck with running the weed eater and the walk behind. I do get to run the mower when it comes time for oil change, blades changed and maintenance. Thought about buying an another John Deere for my self, but I figure she’d take the keys and hide them. Just wish she liked shoveling snow as much as mowing.
I've had to cut mine 4 times so far and probably a 5th time this weekend.
If you're going to use a BP sprayer, get some spray die also, it makes it easier to see what you've hit, and what you haven't. With the higher humidity, these last few days have been great for spraying. I mix mine at 2%.
Two weeks ago I mowed and it was so nice I took off my shirt to do my Beluga imitation and get some natural Vitamin D.
Last week I wore a wool jacket.
Waiting for the wind to die down so I can mow this week🙄
