RIP
Great tunes, great memories....
RIP
I guess the gales of November came early. RIP Mr. Lightfoot. Bob
I have driven along the shore of Gitchegumee a dozen times at least. Every time I look upon that big lake I start singing that song.
He wrote a ton of songs. I never realized. He was writing and performing in the early 60's. My son told me about him giving Tony Rice an albums worth of songs just because he liked the way he played.
RIP Mr. Lightfoot
The sad part about life is that it goes on, and before you know it, we forget about so many things that we liked so much. The Edmund Fitzgerald song always brings a tear to my eye.
It's a shame that death has to help us remember so many good things...
RIP Gordon, you made many of us smile...
Saw him in concert 5 or 6 times, had most of his albums, and still have my favs. RIP Gord.
RIP
I saw him in concert twice. The first time was when he was drinking and drugging heavy. He looked old and unhealthy. I saw him 20+ years later after he found a good woman and cleaned up his problems.
It was like he was 10 years younger than then when I saw him the first time. That hard core boozing and drugging does take a toll on you. I was glad for him to see him healthy and happy!!
Liked his music, even the stuff he wrote for others.
One of the greatest singers/songwriters, to ever come out of Canada, if not the best. RIP Mr. Lightfoot. Thanks for the songs.
"Sundown". One of my Mom's favorites.
Lightfoot had great lyrics, great phrasing, great arrangements. As good as you think he was, he was better than that. An under appreciated artist for sure.
