Long night searching

We have 13+cats

Two stay in side one a blind cat since birth she is 13 or 14 yrs old

But about two and a have yrs ago give or take

My wife on the way to work stopped for a tiny kitten no more than 5 or 6 weeks old on a back road . I posted about it

He has lived inside since I brought him home

Last night (sunday) I opened up some windows tocool down the house at some point my wife had taken the screen out I did not notice

To shorten the story roadster made the get away and I was placed on the lower than pond scum list when I told my wife

I searched the rest of the night and all day today i slept maybe two hours this whole time

But did not give up I did keep checking our out buildings and constant calling him

Wife was crying when she got home over his loss and I was still enemy number 1

I never gave up and was going to post reward adds tomorrow but kept scanning the fields calling out with that slight hope he did not go too far

We do put cat food out in several places for the outside cats and their skunk buddies and a opossum or two

About a hour ago I went looking as i have since i noticed him missing

i happen to see a set of eyes reflecting at me from a pile of cat nuggets by the pole barn Not uncommon lol

however Thank goodness it was roadster

I woke my wife up to get back on the good boy list

she was all excited that i found him me too for many reasons Being off the %$# list a big one

I know silly to get so worked up over a cat

But like a lot of people we got older the pets become more family than pets

Sorry for the short story but I just wanted to share a little good news

As far as the 13 + cats they wonder in get dropped off pregnant and a few strays the family has rescued

Oh I did round up the screen and put it Back in place

I'm glad you found the little beast. I like cats.

Sunshine's little do got out of the fenced backyard one evening. She got up next morning and looked and didn't see her and started getting ready to go to school.

I went out and found her curled up in the corner. Took her inside to where Sunshine was crying in shower and made everyone happy.

Yeah, we get attached to the little critters.

    Thanks all

my wife spoiled the cat since the 1st day she found him and she is happy as a clam we found him

Roadster acts more like a dog most of the time and loves affection more than any cat we have 9r had , thanks dear

I have never been a cat person but over the years I have learned to tolarte even like a few

Roadster does not care what I think he has the normal cat ourlook on such things they own us ,not we own them

he decided I need the attention And it's a battle some nights to keep him off my lap

Our cats have names some based on their start where they came from or some trait of theirs

Roadster was original roadie for a few days because we found him on the road

I think some on here help me pick that name

But with in a few days ,with being with us and getting comfortable ,read as taken over

after all the Running through the house and spurts of engery out of the blue we changed it to Roadster

I’m glad you found him. Had a cat, a Bengal go out one morning never did ever see him again. Always wondered what happened to him, hard to put closure on them when they just disappear like that. Also glade to hear your back in good graces with your wife. Lol.

Ditch-Runner, I think your wife and mine are long lost sisters. She has 8 inside and 10-20 outside cats. She treats them better than old jeff! Worse still is that I'm a dog person. I raised and showed Bullmastiff's for 20+ years.

It's too late for me, save yourself.

Funny how they work their way into our hearts...... Growing up we always had dogs and cats were just critters that kept the barn mice to a minimum. Martha showed up almost two years ago, I remember telling my bride, we will just put out some food for her and let her live under the back porch.....

Well obviously it turned to be a lot more than that....☺️

Happy to hear all turned out well for Roadster !! And that you are not living in the shed !!

I remember growing up and having a few cats. Back then, our cat litter was dirt from the garden and the box was.....well, just a cardboard box! Changing was easy (and cheap), just pitch the whole thing, being careful not to spill it.

Glad you found your lost little Roadster D\R! I once had to take the blame for our cats disappearance after letting him out at 4 AM. Never to be seen again. Not a happy ending and it took quite a while before I found forgiveness from the wife.

I raised and trained dogs for 30 plus years too, and didnt have many outside cats for that reason. Finally found one that the dogs could live with, and it crawled up under the hood of my wifes car and she ran over it. Now I spend my time fighting the rodents.

One of the guys I worked with had an outside cat. On Christmas eve his wife told him the cat was sick and needed to go to the vet now. They found a vet in the next county that would meet at his office on Christmas eve to take care of the cat. He paid the bill for the after hours call, treatment and medicine and it was about a thousand dollars. When they returned home,he was taking the cat inside to recoup, and another black cat came to greet them.Soon as his wife saw the second cat,she knew it was their cat and they had taken the wrong cat to the vet.

I'm so glad you found Roadster. I know the heartache, as I'm sure we all do, When a pet runs away. Especially when they never come back😥

Have to add in just because we're cat magnets

Still watching for and planning to trap and have fixed

About a month ago we had a few nice days of good weather . We started cleaning up and out one of the sheds

I ran across a feral cat I had seen on occasion but found with three kitens just a few weeks old

    She moved them that night

I know she is still hiding out i have caught glimpses of her eating the cat food i put out for our oitside cats and at least one of the three kittens. They can stay wild if they choose but we want to get them fixed

Sadly I have become and now identify as one of the crazy old cat ladys lol

Oh we still have several skunks and a opossum living on the place they do not bother us or the cats

it's like they are all one big free loading family

Our big Main C* ** tomcat came home one morning with two spots of fur missing from the top and bottom of his neck. From the size and spacing of the wounds we figure a fox grabbed him. Bet it did not end well for fox🙄 but Rocky doesn't want to go out at night much anymore😄
