It Was A very Productive Evening

Annual award banquet for the Greenville PD, from which I retired. Retirees are always invited, so Dawnie and I went.

Besides various awards that are presented, it's a fundraiser, with door prizes and raffle prizes, most of which were donated or sold to the PD at cost. Each attendee is given 10 tickets, but we could buy more. I bought 150 tickets extra. Tickets were put into containers next to each lot that was being raffled.

I gave Dawnie some of my tickets, but I put 100 or more into the bucket by the SIG/Sauer P365 with the Romeo red dot sight. Dawnie put her tickets into a lot of kitchen stuff, but she put one into another bucket by mistake. She won that lot! In it were a portable hunting blind, a heated, padded seat, a couple of hunting knives and some other stuff. Not the sort of stuff most women go for. She does like the heated seat, and said it would come in handy for watching soccer games on cool days.

Then, they came to the SIG P365, and I WON IT! I have to pick it up from the dealer tomorrow, but it's mine. This was very fortuitous, since I had already decided to buy a 9mm for daily carry, something smaller, and lighter, and with less recoil than the .45 I've been carrying. The P365 was on my short list of candidates for the job. Funny how things work out sometimes. Some of the fellas tried to buy it from me or trade me out of it, but I refused. I wanted it, I bought a lot of tickets for it, and I intend to use it. All I need now is a good holster.

Dawnie put her stuff in the garage before she went home. I reckon she'll figure out what to do with it sooner or later.

I'm really stoked about my new pistol. I never have had much luck with raffles or drawings, so this was a nice surprise.
