Apparently, Mingo, Ed Ames escorted Tina Turner as she "shuffled off this mortal coil". 95 years old.\

I remember Mingo very well! His skit on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show back in '65 was funny enough to be replicated much later by John Candy on SCTV.
Those TV shows, Daniel Boone and Davy Crocket (movies) got my interests up in traditional muzzle loading way back when I was just a tadpole! Ed Ames RIP.
I did. I think his parents were Italian.
Looked it up. Ukrainian.
Many of tv actors, whom portrayed Indians, were actually Italians. Who knew we looked like native Americans.
Dangit. RIP
He was a big man, but not as big as Fess Parker.
RIP
i never knew he was also a singer
As a kid I truly enjoyed both shows
and many like them could not wait untill the next week's show i never could split a tree by throwing a hatchet at it ...lol
The old westerns on TV and the movies even today i still enjoy them
one of the great thinks of countless streaming channels we have today
Also a kid my granddad on mom's side called me Crockett untill his passing
I always guessed i never ask ,because my name being David and we were from Tennessee
The four Ames Brothers (original name Eurich) had their first charted hit song "Rag Mop" in 1950 and had a number of hits thru the 50s until 1963 when Ed went solo.
I recently saw Mr Ames on an old rerun of the Ed Sullivan show, as a solo singer. He sang "They Call The Wind Maria"........a powerful voice.
A heck of a singer......who knew?!🤔........not me.🥴
