Headed over to the indoor range I frequent, it was already 85 at 930. No A/C so it ended up being a shorten session. Tore through a box and a half of .45 ACP, a box of .38 Special and half a box of .357. Always good to get in some practice, shoot a few drills and catch others attention when that first .357 goes boom !
Anyone else hitting the range this weekend ?

Range day means a good day.
Me and the 10/22 went 7 for 7 on ground squirrels today from the deck. Does that count?
Have to sight in a couple of 22s on Saturday. Crows have been trying to attack my nesting bluebirds so now it is time to declare war on the crows .
Crows are belligerent creatures. They will gang up on a red tail hawk and harass him into the next county. They make a particular call that means "All hands on deck!" when a hawk comes around. My chickens know that call and will assemble in their safe space.
It is said that they will assemble and mourn one of their dead.
Range day on Saturday with my father in law. Gonna bring the air rifle and the old Remington 550.

My Remington 550-1 loves CCI standard velocity b
Better than anything else I've tried in that old Remington.
Crows are protected by the migratory bird act, so once again some here are posting about violating the law. Not a good look.
There are legal hunting season on crows.
Mine too. And capable of cycling anything with no issues. Excellent rifle.

I can mix CB caps with High velocity 22 LR, and it doesn't hesitate to shoot anything I put in it.
When I was a kid, a game warden said that crows are protected except when doing, or about to do damage. He asked, "When did you ever see a crow about to do damage?
That sounds about as good as it gets !!!!!!
Not so fast there Mr....😉

I like how our conversations so often end with us talking about shooting birds.

Ohio has a Crow season June 2nd 2023 to March 5th 2024. Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. No limit on taking them.
Next time try going to a lake or river.
Is that anything like shooting fish in a barrel?
Georgia has a season for crow hunting. Also for crop depredation. Don
Yeah, the peanut farmers in Oklahoma welcome any and all crow hunters, during season or depredation.
Back in the day.......the north shore of Fort Cobb Lake, OK was known as the largest crow roost in North America......due to the vast peanut crops in SW OK.
Guys would set up blinds......and fill them with CASES of shotshells. Word was.....that the shooting got so intense, that barrels could not be touched.
When I reached my late teens, the crows......like the peanut fields.....had thinned out. But I still visited my uncles farm, with an old 40X 22-250, for some stacked hay bale varminting.
Ya know........them crows were mostly............feathers! 🥴
Sorta like Sea Gulls! Why are both of these protected?
Have had no rain around here in nearly a month, so no backyard target shooting for me. There is a pretty big, bad wild fire burning some 35 miles from here near the town of Grayling MI. Hopefully they will get it under control soon, as I read yesterday that a fire team from Wisconsin has come to help fight the fire.
As for hunting crows, I have a brother who enjoys it. Personally, I really like crows and ravens. Did some studying on them a while back and learned a lot about them but there are still many mysteries remaining about these very intelligent birds!
I've had to "eat crow" a couple times in my life and I sure didn't like it!!!😁
