Believe it or not I am a big fan of Motown music. Well I have been jamming it all day in the garage while working(I have a big stereo with large powerful speakers). I had 3 delivery drivers drop by, all of them young bl*ck guys, none had ever listened to motown😣
How sad. cRap is so stupid.
Anyway I believe I like the Cornelius Brothers and sister rose the best of all i listened to; This is my favorite
I like the Spinners too they had some great songs.
BTW what happened to afros? I thought they were cool. I like the blues and jazz too, maybe tomorrow.
If you like Motown what is your favorite?

I did some growing up outside Detroit. Pontiac suburb of Waterford. Motown wasn't the same after the 60's.
Not my favorite but I do enjoy a lot of it
It Influenced a lot of music and performers
Maybe Smokey Robinson, solo or with the Miracles.
I liked the Motown music, it was great!
Sad to see the scene degenerate into rap, I can't stand that crap.
I mentioned that I spent my first 39 years in Flint, Michigan. This was back when it was a great town and actually had the highest average income in the country. Anyway, that means I grew up with Motown and really liked a lot of it. Sadly like Flint declined and became a massive crime ridden slum, Motown devolved into rap and was ruined.
@dunbarboyz, Motown was magnificent in the 60's but the 70's weren't far behind;
This is one of my favorites. Bob
I don't have a Motown favorite. I just like the sound. Great music!
I'd never change the station if Rubberband Man (The Spinners) was on. That song makes me happy!

Smoky and the Temptations. Gotta love Aretha, Gladys, and the Supremes as well. Four Topps.
Marvin gaye. The album with trouble man on it. It was fairly popular when it came out but it's more popular than ever now. Let's not forget Gladys Knight too. I never could figure out what a pip was.
Sam Cook had a great voice.........but not as good the "King".......as in Nat King Cole. 😉
Sad......the way Sam went out.
Pips are citrus seeds, but pip was used to describe something as special, as in,"She's a pip."
Sam06, back in 1965 when I was stationed at Ft. Monroe 3 of us went across the bay to Norfolk to watch the Temptation & the Supremes together. I think the cover was $10.00! I am a big Motown fan.
Yes, I like it. Good, clean, easy listening. Can understand the words.
( I also like music/songs that are opposite of this) But no Rap
I've always been a big fan of Barry White. Also enjoy listening to his Love Unlimited Orchestra instrumentals which seem to make driving along scenic roadways much more memorable!

Whenever I hear Love Train by the O'Jays, I'm transformed back in time to the dance floor of my youth. Hitting on the gal that became my wife!
Almost forgot about Al Green! I could listen to him all day long with his hits like "Let's Stay Together" , and " I'm So Tired of Being Alone". Just great music by a very talented man!
