Not sure why but then why not
just a big muzzleloader I guess lol
He stopped by after a road trip with a a new shooting iron a mountan howitzer told me it was considered a 6 pounder
I Have to admit it's impressive looking the fellow he got itfrom deals in such things and did a great jop building the carrage for it
and I am sure the neighbors will be impressed when he fires it off

Post a picture if you can
Pictures or it didn't happen.
Ok not the best photos
but a few quick photos I took with my phone
He stopped by late yesterday and fest fired it with a light load of powder and wading even with a light load of just paper wading and 6oz of black powder it was loud its made to handle two pounds of blackpowder and a six pound projectile or Canon ball
It will not be maxed out to its full potential where we shoot for obvious reasons
Just a note
It's a just under a hundred yards to our back stop from where we were standing and just over a hundred yards from where we normaly shoot from
we are going to rebuildi.it later this year and add more to it its made with RR ties sevearl large truck loads of dirt and tires burned in the dirt And has underwent a rebuild evey few years for the last 30 yrs adding more and bigger
and its just over a mile to the next road west of us in the direction we shoot
That looks like a lot of fun and has the potential to be a lot of trouble.
Have fun with it.
Joe
Nice, I want one.
I made a SS black powder cannon to shoot golf balls.
Ammo is free, except for the black powder. And you do not need to recover the golf ball!

Nice looking canon you made . congrats on the project I am sure its fun to shoot
How much would it cost, to make me one of those??? I love it and want one. Golf balls I have, as well as BP. I have no idea how to even make something like that!!!
Well the SS for the barrel was found in the scrap pile as a cut-off from a boat propellor shaft. About 40 hours to machine the bore.
Wheels were cut from tube, spokes welded and machined. Another 20 hours.
No way Jose will I make another.

We’ll, sounds like you and your son are ready for deer season!………
OOW. I want one out front of the Shop.
I can image how many more folks would drop by, an instant increase in Business.. just don't point it at the Street !
I've been thinking of slapping a fake one together, just for fun, right in front of the Flag pole. . But the big boom in the Valley would be fun.
That is just too cool. Need range report with video
See what I cab do
My oldest son did a quick vidio of the test fire a few nights ago we did not see it but the camera caught a huge fireball
But he just had black powder and newspaper wading
Range report may not be so easy
Butler this year see what we can do
