...bullets like these? First for me. My wife's cousin gave another cousin the rifle that belonged to their grandfather.
He sent this full box to pass along to the other cousin.
I haven't actually seen the rifle. I'll ask her to bring it the next time she visits.

Here's a picture of a .25 Steven's long beside a .22 magnum:
The .25 Stevens rimfire (short and long) was pretty darned good small game round. Cost and competing with the .22 Long Rifle Hi-Speed rounds led it to an early grave. To my knowledge it is not currently loaded, dropped out in 1942 or so. My local gunshop has a box that just came in mixed with some odds and ends.

It seems like a cartridge that needs to be resurrected.
Here’s my 25/25, but it’s center fire. Strange looking elongated brass ,,,,,
That's interesting. Almost 2-1/2" long. The long case was developed to hold more powder?
Here's a picture of the rifle. Pretty good shape to be stored in a chicken coop.
Was the chicken coop occupied and how many chickens were living there.
Never seen or even heard of that 25 long round.
I do believe chickens have the right to defend themselves after reading all the recent posts about murders in the hen house! 😁
I bought this on line as a 22LR oops , found ammo on the auction side here
10-12 years ago a neighbor ended up with a box of those from a garage sale. They were in an Winchester 9mm box, so he thought he was buying 9mm. I sold them for him here on GB. I don't recall what I listed for a starting price, but I listed a BIN of $60.00. They sold within 24 hours.
I have several boxes in 32 rimfire.
If any of you guys have one empty case you are willing to part with, I would like to buy it from you. I collect empty cases. I never heard or seen this before. Oakie
Interesting round. Thanks for sharing
