Great story. I think I still have Askins's book, I bought and read it a long time ago. He was a "Man With The Bark On" a rough tough hard man. He was a border patrol man back when the border was secure. He worked with Bill Jorden I think. I seem to remember they averaged a gunfight every seventeen days for a period of time.
