Thank you for sharing.
That has got to be an adventure. The meal looks tasty.
Great photos! That is wild!
Rather do that than a mini sub and it looks fantastic-)
Awesome!
Ride the camel then eat camel steak. How I did it too!
I'm a bit surprised she doesn't have to wear a head covering of some type.
Looks like she's having a good time.
Unlike Iran and Saudi Arabia, women in Jordan are not required to wear hijabs or cover up otherwise. Jordan is quite liberal compared to some of its neighbors, and in parts of Amman, nearly everyone is dressed Western-style.
Looks like she was in the Wadi Rum doing the Bedouin ride and feed and having fun.
Good on her.
Mule
It appears she has not found the one tree growing in Jordan, AKA, the Jordanian National Forest. This is a land with almost no natural resources, except potash, yet, somehow they manage to survive.
What in the world do the camels eat? I don't see much grass, or green weeds for the camels.
I love all kinds of food, the more authentic the better. That sure looks the real deal for Arab food! I envy her!! I would love to taste that food!!
Is your granddaughter in the military, is this a church mission trip or is she just having a really cool exotic vacation??
There is some agriculture, based on irrigation, partly from the River Jordan, partly from deep wells. There are also bedouins with camels and goats who are really good at finding bits of pasturage for their flocks. They still live in large tents, but these days most move with 2 ton trucks. In the places pictured, hay is carried for the stock.
Yes, she has full ROTC scholarship at Baylor University, with 2 ‘majors’, one being Arabic language. She is 4th generation military.
Looks like a great time!
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
That is really cool. She must be having a fantastic experience over there. I think I know that one guy squatting down. I think he works at the gas station up the street from me. 🤣
Great pictures.
