You sound like a lot of the rest of us dummys have a box of gloves and just push them out of the way to work lol
Over the years I will guess like a lot of you I have used all sorts of cleaning and thinning agents paint chemicals and oils with out protective gear Hands soaking in it using gas as a cleaning product on greasy parts
How much effect it has had or will have I can only guess same with getting about every fluid a car uses in my eyes and mouth from battery acid to atf fluid will add in the ethanol mixed gas is the worst to get a mouth full of
Many years ago I don't recall the names of the products I was given to clean up some special sealer the boss said be care full your not suppose to get it on you but never gave me any thing to prevent it

After decades of using every copper remover under the sun, thinking I had the barrels spotless I discovered the spray wipeout bore cleaner and have thrown all the other away. I took what I thought was a spotless 6BR barrel and sprayed wipeout foam bore cleaner into it for a test. It showed me how much copper was still in the barrel. The first patch was solid blue from copper.
As a added bonus it will not harm your skin, even if you have a cut or scrape.
Yes Sir, I have a large box of XL gloves here somewhere that I bought a couple of years ago. I have probably used 10 or 12 of them. The one fluid that I really really hate is brake fluid. That stuff sucks.

Millions spent developing high tech lubricants and solvents and guys use kerosene and break fluid. Good Grief!
About 30 years ago I purchased a Winchester 101 from a friend. Sometime over its life someone filled the engraving on the receiver with that gold epoxy stuff they used to sell and it had worn and wasn't looking to good. I tried several methods to remove it without destroying the blueing and nothing worked. Then I discovered Butch's Bore Shine and gentle scrubbing with a brass brush would do it. After about an hour of bending over the bench and scrubbing, success was at hand. Well that is until I stood up and promptly dang near passed out. That is when I discovered the perils of using a solvent without proper ventilation. Yeah, yeah, I read the warning label but I guess I am a slow learner.😀
I still use it for bore cleaning but for a bore that needs soaking because of heavy build-up I have settled on the Blue Wonder gel. No fumes and not toxic. Clean the bore as usual and then swab the gel in and go away for an hour or two. It is amazing the amount of crud that comes out of a supposedly clean bore when that first patch is pushed through. You want to find any cut on your body, even microscopic??? Try PVC glue. Ask me how I know. 🤬. That stuff burns like all heck.

One of the smartest guys I ever known is a Honda/Toyota mechanic.I watched him refilling coolant in a car and he wore neoprene gloves and apron,a face shield and a special funnel that would catch and contain any spillage. That gave me a new respect for coolant.
Agree but odds are being well over board on safety will help him in the long run
Odds are ihave drank by accident more antifreeze over my life to fill a truck radiator
And being a dummy I have had battery acid on my hands more times than I can remember and just to confirm it I touch my tongue with my fingers and instant you know it's acid lol
