For you guys that don't know what they are, It is a bell, that you put on your motorcycle, at the lowest point to the ground, to ward off the evil road gremlins. Such as pot holes, stones and other thing that would make you crash. You can't buy a bell for yourself. It has to be given to you as a gift from a loved one of friend. Tonight, a good friend of mine, gave me a bell for my new Harley. It is a 2nd amendment bell. Pretty darn cool bell. My other bike has three of them. One from my mom, dad and son. One of those is also a 2nd amendment bell, from my dad, a religious bell from my mom, and a Harley Davidson bell from my son. Those bells really sing when your riding!!!!!!!!! Oakie

A buddy of mine is a big Harley fan and he has a big beautiful bike, not sure what model, but it's a gorgeous machine. All chrome and matte black. I was looking at it one day and noticed a little brass bell hanging down and asked him if that was the motorcycle equivalent of a testicle. That's when I learned about 'gremlin bells'.
AKA Guardian Angel and or Spirit bells to keep you safe while riding, just another thing that's cool about biker culture, and yes our bikes have them...
Must be a Harley thing, my 86 Beemer doesn't have one.
First I have heard of this. Admitted I have not ridden in about 10 or 12 years . Is it a regional or just a Harley thing .?
If you can hear those bells on a Harley, you've got some damn good ears. 😉
Like I said ...........................................
Thinking about putting one of those bells on my KIA automobile. The roads around here have been a crap shoot for close calls during our tourist season lately!!
It is a Harley thing, Nationwide
Believe it or not, I can here mine if I turn my head sideways to look back. The first time I heard it, I thought something was wrong with the bike. I pulled over and couldn't hear it anymore. When I pulled up to the club house, one of the guys mentioned that he could here my bells coming up the driveway. He said I sounded like Santa Claus. 😂. I responded, well I am, I brought you a fifth of Jack, and handed it to him. 😉
I beg to differ about whether it is HD thing only, I ride HD but many riders with other makes have them also...
I live in central Fla. Do you think one will keep me safe if I wear it on my belt loop when I visit Walmart?😏
Sure couldn't hurt and at least in Walmart you wouldn't stand out as 'that weird dude with a bell'.
In Walmart, you may just be one of many. 😯
Walmart is where you go to see what has happened to humanity.

I call them "Walmartians" !
I stand corrected. You are 100% right. I was told it was a Harley thing many years ago. I'm going to put my new bell, on my Goldwing. Thanks for the correction.😊. Oak
