Dad's new toy.
Pop broke down and finally went and got himself a new Kubota. Being 81, I guess he finally figure out that ,trying to always use a shovel to dig with and his back to pick stuff up with on the farm, he needed a frontend loader/backhoe. I told him to take good care of it and not to put too many hours on it, so it will be like new when I inherited it🤣. I'm just really glad he is finally spending some of his money. I think he was planning on us kids hooking up a U-Haul to his Hurst, to haul it all to the cemetery with him. My dad is the most frugal person you will ever meet, when it comes to himself. He didn't take my mom on a vacation, till he was 72, because he didn't want to spend the money. Trust me, he has enough for them and us kids😉. Now he needs to enjoy all the fruits of his hard labor. Us kids never went without. My dad always made sure we had whatever we needed or wanted. In short, I love the man. Oakie

Oakie, your dad seems like my dad. Always had enough time to take me hunting/fishing. Was a Medic in WW2.
Mom came to me desperate in '93 to buy land and huge mobile home behind them which had right of way across their property. Well Dad is tighter than the bark on a oak tree so I ended up buying mobile home and property behind him and removed Mobile home over 10 years ago.
In 2011 dad passed away but before he passed he deeded his house to me, but more importantly he gave me the greatest gift I ever received, a piece of my beloved Virginia.
You darn tooting, I love him and miss him. ---------------------------Ray
Good for him! I don't know what I'd do around here without our B3030 Kubota. Darn thing's as handy as a pocket on your shirt.
Dads neighbor had the huge John Deere. Was always a fixing on it and looking for parts. Finally kicked it down the road and bought the Kubota. Gets twice as much done with no down time. --------------------Ray
I bought a sub compact Kabota with loader a few years ago.I could tell that my wife was not completely for me buying the tractor. After a few projects, especially when we had to take down a couple of big maples in the front yard and move the big chunks of wood, she thinks the Kabota is one of the greatest inventions of all time.
Sounds like my old man. Frugal but wise. Gave at the end so his kids and grandkids could have even more.

@Oakie, he will find it to be the handiest & most fun machine. 😃
Good for OakiePop, hope it gives him many years of service.
