In Seven Weeks.........
We had to mow the yard !!!
Been real dry all summer. We finally got rained three times in the last 10 day and the yard turned green again and needed a good trim. Mostly we were taking out the weeds 😏

Been a tough lawn year here too. With the long periods between rainstorms, the grass doesn't know what to do. Dry as a bone for 2 - 3 weeks and then almost flooded. However the weeds are thriving and tomorrow I'll be out making sure they get a nice trim. Bob
Very tough lawn year here. The grasshopper swarms are killing everything green that the sun and dry weather hasn't withered.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Rain? What is this rain of which you speak?
It's so humid here in SE Georgia that we don't even need rain for the grass to grow. Like living in a terrarium.....or maybe a crockpot. Disgusting. Yard gets mowed on Tuesdays, and by Thursday it's almost knee-high again.
Just checked the weather site. It's 11:45 pm, and the heat index outside is still 104 degrees.
Cold snap hit here, down to 97 at 10:30. I did see a cloud the other day and 87 raindrops.
wow thats a late start and tough on the crops
I have not really checked I know its easy just have not looked, but our area has to be above average this year on rain I think its rained every week and several times a week since spring. 🤨 we have mowed the lawn twice in a week more than once we just finished a round of mowing and it rained again LOL
We went from a drought in June to many days with torrential rain in July. Out of the last three weeks we had only three days with no rain.
I am not complaining except I am so far behind in outdoor projects that have to get done.
I mowed the grass the other day. The ground was as hard as concrete, and as lumpy as cobblestones. I had to wear the seat belt to keep my butt in the seat. The only good thing is that the ground is so hard the moles can't tear it up.

Been a very dry summer here as well. I will only mow the day after a good rain. If I mow any other time, I create a dust storm that leaves chunks of dirt in my hanky every time I blow my nose! That is even if I wear a dust mask!
You can put a man on the moon but you can't make grass that only grows two inches?
After our record-breaking, unbelievable snow year, it has dried up almost completely. I recorded 1.08" in April, 1.1" in May, 0.36" in June, and so far in July .28" is all. That came in two little storms, exactly .14" each.
At or just above 100 degrees for most of this month. Right now (2 pm) it's 97 with humidity 24%. That humidity is actually up a bit, signalling that we may be on the cusp of our summer monsoon. Sure hope so.
Our water supply lakes have dropped to about 64% capacity......putting us in stage 1 drought classification. Yard sprinklers........twice a week limit.......and only at certain times.
Not so bad.....really. Back in about 2012.....we were down to 18%......AND they couldn't get to the last 10%!!😧
Around that time, they started our "potty water" project.......a whole nuther story.
record rain here in Northeast Arkansas
Another 7-10 days of 90*+ temps and no rain in the forecast in north MO. Pastures are decimated, hay crop at 15-20% of normal, stock ponds empty or below useful level, and don't even ask about row crops.
I've started the processes to request county wide USDA cost share to install stock water access to rural water systems BUT those reservoirs are low also. In 1988, the local water district was pumping creek water into the treatment plant but that's not an option this year since the creeks dried up in June.
