Free load of wood

We've had two micro bursts here in the last two weeks. Right after a big rain. Lots of trees down. I hear chainsaws running every day.
It's too hot for me to be out cutting, but a friend called and said he had a wild cherry tree down and already cut up. I couldn't pass it up.

I'd just guess I have 40-50 trees blown down by the storm a few weeks back. Lots of them fell across fences but no one seems interested in cutting wood in July🤐. We had a little 'micro-burst' squirt through last night. This morning I found another tree top (obviously broken or damaged previously) had fallen across the UTV path I run each morning while checking cattle. That's going to require a tractor & chain before I can even begin with a saw.
I offered to let a couple guys cut wood 'on the shares' (they cut 3 loads and I keep 1) but they thought it wasn't fair. Oh well.
I had to cut down a wild cherry when I built my shop.I took a straight piece and squared it up on the table saw.I brought it in the house to dry and we have been using it as a door stop for the last 10 years. It has made a beautiful piece of wood and my plans are to make some grips for my 1911s and Ruger 22s.
I don't let summer heat stop me from cutting wood. Free cherry wood?? What a deal! Nice score!
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
It's not the heat, it's the heat AND the humidity. I see those tree service guys out in this weather in their full protective gear, no way I could do that job, now.
Cut down and cut up. Good God give me his address I will come get a load.
Good friends are Priceless !!!
Good BBQ wood! What time?
I never thought I would see a face cord go for 80 to 100 delivered.
I could sell that load over in the college town for $150 if it was split and seasoned.
Always "split" in the winter however. Freezing makes it so much easier😊
Doesnt make any difference with my splitter, LOL.
