Shortsighted
Defund classes in the safe handling of archery equipment and firearms and then they will wonder why accidents with them will increase. Haven't heard about the high school skeet teams yet, but ours is privately funded. Hopefully the school won't want to distance itself from that type of activity by pulling the plug. Bob

They are NOT short sighted by any means......they are(and have been) running the LONG game. Unfortunately they are winning too! They did this to get MORE control, and it worked. Lots of schools have already dropped any type of shooting or hunting clubs! They ARE b******** tho, that part we agree on!
Agree, but not shortsighted at all. The withholding was intentional.
DEMOCRATs consider government schools as indoctrination centers thus archery and shooting sports are bad.
I agree wholeheartedly but this bill passed the senate unanimously and got 240 votes in the house. That was only possible with massive Republican support. In other words - all politicians are either shortsighted or b******* and many have both characteristics. Don't look for the Republicans to have any more common sense or scruples than the dems. Bob
There are VERY few republicans that have the morales and backbone to be there. All the rest needs to be voted out!
That said, the Biden administration TWISTED this bill to defund the schools and grab the control they wanted.
I wonder, since Biden and his cartel have been in office, how many more people have had to be put on high blood pressure medication? This administration has proven that stupidity is contagious. Now if you’ll excuse me I’ve got to go take my high blood pressure pill.
I took note of it in the Saturday Funnies.
Was wondering how many would pick up on it.
Agree with all of ya.....😡
Hmmm. From my understanding a bipartisan congress approved the budget but bureaucrats in the DOE with consent of Biden misinterpreted and mangled the law intentionally and withheld funding these programs. Bearingarms.com has the real story.
And not one of them voiced their concern before the vote that this could happen. It was nothing but a feel-good piece of legislation inserted into the bill to make it look like the politicians care so they can garner a few votes come election time. It will accomplish little and harm a lot.
Here is a good article and viewpoint from someone who gets it;
Experts Warn Defunding School Hunting And Archery Programs Will Contribute To Mental Health Crisis (forbes.com)
Hopefully there will be some real effort put forth to undo the misinterpretation of the law and not just electioneering lip service. Bob
