I need some help in identifying a Winchester!!
It is a 22 short, Patent 1878, falling block Winchester rifle. Also marked Reg. US Patent Off & FGN. Overall length is 43 3/4 inches, heavy target type barrel is 27 inches long. The stock is almost a full length stock coming within 3 1/2 inches to the end of the barrel and has a metal piece over the end of the stock on the barrel end and a metal piece on the buttstock end of the stock. I'm blanking on the correct term. Aren't the results of a stroke fun!!😕
It is marked U S behind hammer and has a serial?? number of 134270.
It has a target type peep sight with a very fine hole in the peep sight.
Overall condition is very, very nice, both metal and wood.
I thought I knew most any rifle Winchester ever made but I've never seen one like this. The heavy target barrel, the very long stock and the peep sight give this rifle a look I've never seen before.
I can swap for this rifle at a real good swap, at least for me. I've already decided I'll do the swap.
So what is this Winchester rifle I'm getting set to swap for??

If it looks like this, it’s a US marked 1885 training rife in .22 short ,,,,,
It looks like that but it's marked 1878??
Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to bed I go!!
It"s a Winder musket. Made as a training rifle for the military. Most of them have been reamed so they can shoot Long Rifle cartridges. Fun gun, not always the most accurate. They run from approximately $900.00-$1,200.00 depending on condition. Probably good info on Google.
