I originally bought them for 450, back in the early 90's when nobody wanted them and thought they were not good enough for whitetails. I have taken a few deer in PA , with my 1894fg. Oakie

My uneducated guess.
1, the old Marlin Marlins are getting a premium right now.
2, .41 Mag is an off caliber and I'm guessing not a lot of them were made.
I think the price a bit high but it might not be out of line.
More power to him if he gets that price.
Here is one that sold a couple of weeks ago;
Either way price wise you made a pretty good investment at $450! Bob
My former Marlin collection done extremely well they paid off my car and house and put a real nice nest egg into my retirement fund like you I paid in the 400 to 500 hundred dollar range when I bought them and I had at least 4 of them bring high 3000.00
Remington actually helped us out when they bought Marlin and let the quality go down from a collector stand point now that Ruger is turning that around I'm noticing the standard chamberings like 30-30 and 45-70 starting to come down on the JM guns
Set a reasonable price and enjoy your profit. Nice rifle
Very beautiful

I would tend to lean towards the $2000-2500, but who knows if someone really wants it sky is the limit.........
It sure is a gorgeous rifle! At nearly 4k and $125 shipping, you'll have plenty of time to admire it. 😁
Though I did look into reloading the 41 just in case the price ever comes down.

Maybe but the economic dollar is tough now ,put at a buck with reserve for a week with counter to see interest?
