Amendment 14, section 3
Section 3 Disqualification from Holding Office
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
Democrats know they cannot beat Trump in 2024. Trump vs Teleprompter would be a landslide victory for Republicans. Thus, the libs have gone all-in with the 'insurrection' charges. Maybe you knew that already.
But, have you considered the fallout if the charges stick? If Trump is convicted of insurrection? Because if that happens, America becomes a single party system. With that precedent under their belt, with that win as their foundation, Democrats will have all the leverage they ever need to stay in power and force their selfish, socialist, anti-American agendas on everyone. All dissenting voices will be oppressed with judgment & executions handed out by the accusers. If that sounds like a dictatorship, you are correct.
The 14th amendment is the Democrats' real weapon. And with it they will ruin everything, EVERYTHING America stands for should they get their way with the insurrection charges against Donnie T.
Here at the GB Forums, we stand for the Constitution. We fight for the Second Amendment and we're pretty adept at doing so. But this is a new kind of fight, one that's subtle, complicated, and is framed by the media as being good for America.
With a single party governing the country and the media spewing propaganda and threats 24-7, how do we fight for the America we believe in, the one that is founded on self reliance rather than self interest?

If the kangaroo courts convict and sentence President Trump, then you will VERY soon find the answer to that question!
I'm not sure how a conviction of Trump turns the country into a single party system. I guess that assumes a few things at this point a) that he is the eventual nominee and b) that all the republicans in the party decide to disband. I don't see either of those as a certainty. Furthermore, given that a) isn't a certainty, it seems equally as likely that a DeSantis or some other candidate could pound Biden into the ground. And that is why I think they are slowly moving to displace the old pants wetter. And I think you will see someone like Grabin' Newsome rise to replace him.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
As Trump has not been charged with Insurrection, I really don't see how this applies.
With all due respect to the former Arkansas governor, of course.
I really hope the GOP comes to its senses and nominates someone other than Trump, but were he to be the nominee, there is nothing in the 14th Amendment and his current charging that keep him out of the office.

14th does not apply to the president. READ IT. Tom Fitton summed it up nicely when he said the founders did not forget to write "President" in the qualifying preamble.
You may be correct. ‘Any office, civil or military under the United States’ probably includes the President unless one considers the Presidency to be over the United States.
