I recently acquired one of these handguns. It is marked ac 41. Who made it? Thanks

Walther
in 1941
Handgun or can opener?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Remember when you could order those things out of Shotgun News for like $50? Wish I had gotten a pallet or two......but alas, I did not.😭
Ugly pistols, I really like them. They replaced the Luger, likely the most iconic pistol in history, if a little demanding in maintenance. My current one is also 1941, with Abwehr acceptance marks. If yours has any nazi marks, that will enhance value.
This is mine;
CYQ Spreewerk. Not worth as much as some of the Walthers but to me it is priceless. Dad brought it back after serving in WWll and after he died it was passed on to me. It is a complete kit with the holster, extra mag and tool. Bob
Had an older friend that loved ruger anything. So I take him a p94 I had just gotten. He decided he liked it and hands me an ac 43 p-38. I knew I didn't have much in the ruger so I blindly took the p38. Later that evening I'm on gunbroker looking it up. After the first or second listing I scroll through, I call him and tell him we need to trade back that just wasn't a good trade. He's says son sometimes you just gotta shut up and know you was given a gift. Still have it after all these years.
Parts of it have been copied and used in other pistols. All it needs is a staggered magazine to modernize it.
Or Fighter Plane?
My dad gave me one years ago. I threw it in the back of the safe and probably haven't touched it in thirty years. I think somebody gave it to him when he had his gun store. I will have to dig it out and see what the makings are on it.
I have 2.
Bought this odd one (AC42) off a gal friend of mine:
Grips were broken on the other side. I added a set of later production plastic grips.
I also picked up another P1/P38 after selling the one I had previously and missing it.
Being left handed, I like the left hand eject of the P38.
