Looks like a goshawk.
Gosh, it does! Don
We can always count on “Don” for a smile ,,,,,,, 😉
Northern Goshawk. It is the bigger cousin of the Cooper's hawk and the Shinned hawk.
PS, I don't know anything about hawks. Donna told me. She use to raise Hawks in the Pennsylvania Amish country, growing up.
What ever you do, don't shoot it!
It is a goshawk. The largest of the US accipiters. Gos hawk, Coopers hawk and sharp shinned are the US accipiter group. We have Coopers hunting doves in our yard all winter.
We also have Coopers hunting doves on our backyard bird feeder ....... and they are very successful.
Same here, everything is quiet, than all of a sudden, BANG. The feeder is rocking, and the feathers are settling..
Exactly !
Was it Jim? Please say it wasn’t Jim.

Jim who, did a Jim used to post here?
There has been an eagle's nest on the golf course I golf at for years. Very interesting to take a look around the base of the tree where their nest is located. MANY fish bones (the course is on a lake), fur, feathers and even very small fawn bones & hoofs!
They taste like owl!!! 😎
Dat thar is a teeetie bird fer sure!
Sadly, yes, it was Jim. RIP
