Awesome looking view thanks for sharing the photos
where we live it's pretty much flat and just farm fields around us As in nothing to see here
question if you know ? Was Bitterroot one of the locations for the reality show with the families and people living off the grid and off the land basicly the show followed around the country maybe mountain men I think was the shows name
I seem to recall a old fellow whos lively hood was keep the big cats and bears chased back up into the hills off the ranchers land
None of those shows were filmed here, only the crappy series, called "Yellowstone" was filmed in the valley. Maybe Gunnut358 was an extra in the film, since it was filmed so close to him...😉
What I would like to say about Yellowstone would probably get me booted off this site permanently. I will say that if anyone here hasn't watched it yet, take the series Sons Of Anarchy, and switch out the Harleys for horses. The current Hollywood strike is the best thing that has happened here since 2018.
Oh, and horse drifting. Can't leave out the horse drifting.🤣
It's amazing how well the whole Yellowstone thing is disliked around here. Do you have any idea how many wrecks have happened at the entrance?
I watched some of the Yellowstone episodes. Here is my question why do they make fun of the town of Belgrade on the show? On two different episodes they make disparaging remarks about living in or ending up in Belgrade.
I don't know about the number of wrecks, but I'd be extremely surprised if there haven't been any yet. I've come close several times myself, and know of several other very close calls from others. The crew vans dart out onto the highway as if the drivers are thinking "here I go, good luck everybody else". Most don't even stop.
The closest I've come was last summer. There wasn't the usual crowd of photofarmers that day. I was headed south, and not seeing the usual crowd, kept the truck at 70mph. There was one green 4-door Wrangler parked just south of the entrance. How do I remember the color and number of doors? They decided to whip a 180 in front of me when I was within probably 25 yards of them. I doubt there was 8 feet separating us when I came to stop. Had the driver remembered the skinny pedal on the right as he was turning, I would've zipped right past them.
A man and woman in the front seats, and a couple little kids in the back. No doors or top. You know what saved everybody? I had just put a new master cylinder in my truck the day before. Locked up all four tires, and left a decent amount of rubber on the road, but got it shut down.
I don't especially regret what came out of my mouth, that was wholly directed at the driver, other than the kids hearing all of it. What I said, those kids had no business hearing until they hit about 25. I can't really even describe how angry I was that he almost killed his entire family just because he couldn't wait 5 seconds until I had passed by.
It's pretty bad when they have to put traffic warning signs out because of all the idiots, stopping and taking pictures. By watching the show, you'd never realize that the main house is less than 100 yards off of I-93 huh...
Not too long ago, I was again heading south, and was just starting into that big curve past the entrance. There were two vehicles pulled off the road, and every last one of them were standing there taking pictures of what they thought were deer and elk, on the hillside just below the main house. Oh there were deer and elk alright, only they were archery targets shaped like them.🤣
A long time ago there was. They're all dead now, let them RIP, let it go,let it rest.
Belgrade sucks. Avoid it and stay away. Tell others it sucks and to stay away.
Last year on vacation we flew into the Bozeman airport which is in Belgrade we had lunch at a nice pub near the airport and I recall the folks there were great. Still not sure why the show chooses to poke fun of the town
Yep, I watched your plane land. Living only a few blocks from the runway, I watch many planes land.
I have never watched any of Yellowstone. I can't imagine hollywood appealing to me. I suppose some of it is true, like the name, there are horses, wildlife, beautiful scenery. I'm lucky enough to just look out my window, or short drive down the road to see this. No use for hollywood.
Beautiful !! Thanks for sharing !!!
