Benelli M2 - Very hard to load??

I took it to a local gunsmith. He wanted to shorten the magazine spring. But I decided to call Benelli customer service first. They said to shorten the spring 4 to 6 circles. Gunsmith agreed and shortened 6 wraps. It is still very very difficult, Benelli said send it back for 6 weeks. Said it must be the load ramp alignment. Ouch! $1200 gun. Season will be over.

Sucks, but send it back and let Benneli make it right instead of having your LGS make adjustments. Beg, borrow, or steal a loaner so you can get out in the field and get some birds.
You sure expect more. Mossburg comes to mind.
I wonder if you've got a burr or something funky going on with the follower? Mine is super easy to load.
Had the same problem with my 20 gauge Legacy. Removed the spring and follower and found some trash (possibly weeds or grass) causing the follower to bind. Cleaned it out, oiled it down, everything back to perfect.
Does it load easy w/o the spring in it?
Is there any dent in the tube? Since other bits were already covered.
Maybe suffer thru the season with it if you can't find a loaner
Then send it back in for repair
I agree a new gun and having to get it repaired is frustrating
but just about any product built today the quality standards Seem hit miss
Thirty minutes with a great gunsmith in Austin - A new lighter magazine, adjust the load ramp and .....works like a champ!!!
Glad you're up and runnin'.
BUT, like you said, it's a $1200 gun. Was it like this all the time or did something cause the issue?
Glad to hear it got fixed up. Good deal.
See, you did all that worrying for nothing. You just got to love that feeling when you solve a problem and things work right. Good luck hunting.
