Nice
Very enlightening. 😁
Nice collection thanks for sharing
Congrats on your nice display of the lighters
I only have one zippo i found as a kid i was about 8 yrs old or so it has some US battle ship ? Or some war ship with its name under the ships engraving on its case
i carried it for years as a young kid even wore down the image and glitter of it
I don't recall which ship and it's been years since I even looked at it I caarred it for years as a kid .mom and dad never cared LOL
A departed co worker her name was woody collect zippo lighters and memorabiliashe had hundreds I'd not thousands even her dogs name was zippo
I sold a few zippo give away small games and advertising trinkets that were given out by zippo over the yeas and lighters of course for her on ebay
some brought hundreds of dollars all but a couple ended up sold to Japanese collectors I hadn't idea what a huge hobby and marked was out there
that was when shipping was a lot easier and way cheaper
Only one I ever had was plain brushed stainless. No idea where it went.
I see some rally cool ones in that collection.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Can you flip one open and have it lit with one hand?
That would be tough with all that glass.
Do you have this jewel?
This is awesome.....when I was younger my father, grandfather and other family members all smoked. It was facinating to see that lighter come out, open with that click and light up....the smell is something you'll never forget. You don't get the same affect at all from any other lighter. I've thought about buying one to put in my purse just to "have"...but that seems a little nutty, so I haven't done it yet. I will probably have one someday though.
When I quit smoking I threw all my lighters in the trash. I don't miss them at all.

Nope most of mine are gun related or wildlife
I have carried a zippo for over 40 years, every day. I have to laugh because, I was just searching for a zippo on ebay, about two minutes ago. I though I had a nice couple of zippos, until I saw yours. I only have about ten. You have about ten thousand. LOL. I collect the Jim Beam and Harley Davidson lighters. I also have a couple of WWII trench lighters, That Guesshots sent me. They are my favorites. I think they belonged to his grandfather. I miss George being on here. Right now, Zippo has almost all my lighters for repair. If you ever find any rare Harley Davidson lighters, Let me know and I will buy them from you. Oak
And seven marks
1975 I believe I have a date chart somewhere tucked in a safe place
I have a few from the 60's the marks on them are vertical on them.
The major of mine start in the 90's and go up from there
I had one a lot of years ago when I still smoked. The memory of that one was a 4" diameter blister on my leg where it leaked. I overfilled it and the heat of my leg caused the fluid to expand and burn my leg.
We have all done that. I even went swimming with my Zippo in my cutoffs, and when I got out, it lighted up.
I don't see Nails Zippo.
I've got a pair of these that have both my wife's and my initials engraved on them. Took quite a few Marlboro coupons to get them.
Just looked at flea bay and one is asking 250 bucks for one. 😲
"I've thought about buying one to put in my purse just to "have"...but that seems a little nutty, so I haven't done it yet."
Why let that stop ya now? Sorry Kasey, I just couldn't resist.
But I agree on the smell of a Zippo. Just like the smell of a Winchester Super-X 22LR round when it fires. Those two smells cannot be duplicated
seven marks
Austin are you referring to the diagonal slashes on the bottom? What do those mean?
When my Marine buddies got back from Vietnam in 1970 they were all smoking various things using their Zippo lighters.
I've got a few Ive picked up over the years.
For dating the the hash marks try here https://www.zippo.com/pages/date-codes
What do you know? My George C. Wallace Zippo was made in 1967.
I had no idea there was a date code stamped on the bottom.
Add in the smell of Hoppe's Number 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
