@Locust Fork Yesterday I headed down to my range with my pockets full of ammo and 2 rifles. My Steven's Little Scout and my trusty temperamental Marlin 989... Click Click Click that's I'll I got. So I get my friend Dave (TRAP55) on the phone tell him what it's doing or rather what it's not doing... Following Dave's instructions it's firing... Dave thinks it's the firing pin.... At this point I know it needs to go into the gunsmith. But then I remember your email and take my gun home and take it apart with YouTubes help for pictures for Dave... If I can fix it I don't know. Thank you for giving me the courage to say I can.
By the way I still had a good time ❤️ self-care.

Rae, you can do anything a man can do, and anything you "WANT" to do. My wife changed the radiator in our expedition!!!!. She is not afraid to tackle any project. There are tons of things I have no idea what I am doing, and just watch a youtube video ,and do it!!! I have repaired firearm's and my motorcycles, just by watching videos. I know sometimes it can get nerve racking, But you will never learn, if you don't try.
Now go on the internet, buy that firing pin, and change it!!! You got this kid. If I can do it, you can do it. Oak
Got to agree with Oakie, heck, I think you could perform open heart surgery using you tube. I've done things to airplanes, cars, trucks, boats, guns and small and large engines guided by a plethora of you tube videos and all were 100% successful.
Point is that you can do ANYTHING that anyone else can do. The only limitations are the right tools and how brave and patient you are 😉
My thing is fixing and/or restoring most anything (long before u tube) and those videos really are a visual "how to" encyclopedia of darn near everything. You may be surprised at what you can do
Besides you can always take it to the gunsmith after you screw it up ................ 😛
Doing your own work is fun. Glad to hear you're diving in.

You are AWESOME! I'm sure you can figure out any of these contraptions.
My point of reasoning is if human hands put it together, human hands can take it apart. And my reality is sometimes get it back together correctly. YouTube is the savior for all of us who are too " thrifty" to pay the person who knows how. In the situation you are about to face, beware of spring bound parts.
Ditto the warning about springs. Springs by their very nature hate humans and will literately jump at every possible opportunity to escape ... and they have no equal when it comes to hiding ........................... (except maybe Bigfoot).
