Shared the link with a few friends, told them "even if you're not looking for a rifle, at least read the story in the description, it's worth telling".
One of them said "talk me out of buying it".....he has a habit of buying fun things off the auction part of this site.
One time that same friend mentioned he wanted a case hardened 1911, so I looked up the least expensive Auto Ordnance example under the buy it now filter. Within 2 minutes he'd ordered it. So I wouldn't be surprised if he's already placed a bid. Trucker with a heart of gold and a soft spot for classic style firearms......if he gets that treasure, it'll be in good hands.

Since reading these posts and the auction story, it has been very hard for me to make a comment due to vision problems. Can't seem to find a dry eye moment but I'm trying very hard.
You are for sure in my prayers Spider, and I know that your brothers rifle will find a home that is worthy of where it has been and who it belonged to!

This is a nice carbine and I intended on leaving it to my son but he isn't interested in guns or hunting.
Maybe a day at the range with some folks who know a thing or three about firearms safety might sway him a bit?
