The end of the tree vs house chaos is nearly over.....USAA came through....very pleased!
I have received the payment for the home.....the damaged home is scheduled to be demolished and cleared away this week. We have already spoken with a few local dealers and we are buying a replacement to put there. The new place is tenatively set to deliver next Thursday. Getting things hooked up and everything moved in, it should all be over with in the next few weeks.
The only remaining nonsense that we have to take into account is the back porch. We have to get that handled because the whole reason that spot was chosen is it has a beautiful veiw of a stream that runs through our property. I feel like we are not doing things justice unless we do the back porch like the former home had.
I'll be so happy once this is all over with.....my son has been suprisingly cooperative throughout this whole nonsense. A few hiccups, but I completely understand his frustration with the whole situation.
We've decided we are putting our foot down about his weight bench. Its enormous and he ridiculously had it set up in the kitchen in his prior home.....we're insisting it go outside on the porch or under the shed where the lawn mower goes. We don't trust the floors to hold up to that abuse or weight.

Glad they came through for y'all and I can understand the weight room in the kitchen thing, for a young bachelor he probably only used the fridge...
Great news, good for you.
Glad it's all coming to an acceptable conclusion.
👍️ Good News!!
Awesome news Kasey. I would have your son build the deck. Seriously. Have him read up on it and build it. It is a good life lesson. I built my own deck and Garage in my twenties. I didn't have a clue, but also couldn't afford to have someone build it either. Liam seems like and intelligent, nice kid. I would let him have at it. Either that, or have him build an area for his weight bench. By the way, I never saw anything in lifting weights. If I ever needed anything really heavy to lift, I called a few friends. The last line was sarcasm. Oakie
Hopefully he is paying you rent?
I would stand firm on no weight bench in the new place.
