RIP........Walt Garrison.....a Cowboy's Cowboy π

Mr. Garrison was a few years before me at Oklahoma State........and he left very big boots to fill.
He started college ball as a linebacker.........who'da thunk??
He reportedly had lately been struggling with dementia/alzheimers.
Rest now sir.........you've earned it. π€ π

I was heartbroken to read this yesterday. He was always one of my favorite players, but also a great Gentleman, and a REAL Cowboy in every sense. Most folks didn't know that he actually Rodeoed , while playing professional ball . His story is one for all time. So glad I got to see him play. RIP Mr. Garrison.
One of the best and one of the classiest. RIP .
Yeah, a good one to watch ,,,,,, along with Willy, Lilly, Jethro and George ,,,,,, didnβt need much more. π
βJust a pinch between your cheek and gum is all it takesβ.
Garrison, Thomas and Hill made an awesome backfield. Calvin Hill was always my favorite, to line up next to Walt.
Never knew him as a footballer . Just as a great cowboy . R.I.P.
He was an Oklahoma State Cowboy and then a Dallas Cowboy.
