I have a Rem Rand and it dont have any serial # all the outher marking are on it ant been sanded that i can tell

The gun is in great shape I was told it was my step Dad,s dads gun he was issued !!

    It's possible that the SN was omitted during manufacture, but that happened only rarely.

    We used to have a reader here who had a similar M1911A1. He got permission from ATF to send it to their headquarters for X-ray examination. They verified that it was the rear thing; they gave him a letter stating that fact so he would never have trouble with police who believed that the gun was altered.

    I don't know if ATF still does the same thing, but you can write or phone their nearest office & ask.
