Outdoor pay transition

I have read with interest the discussion flow after my post in Locust Forks thread.

I just re-read the support link provided at the top of that discussion.

There is no time table indicated. Is there a specific date this will begin?  Will there be a time when they tell a long time seller that they are no longer able to list unless they sign on to take credit cards?

This gateway will channel all auction side payments through the OP system.  Nothing mentioned about buyers not willing to make such a large purchase with a credit card. Just a description of the ease and benefit of this system.

If the OP checkout screen is like E*** they provide a shipping address for the item. There is no phone number or email address provided. All contact must be within the OP bubble.

Many buyers want to speak to me when I’m selling them a gun. They might have un-asked questions or other issues before sending payment. I said “sending payment”, not making six clicks on their phone but actually going through a ritual when they’re spending thousands of dollars. Going to get a certified check, money order or personal check. Writing out an envelope, sending this to the person they are doing business with. The only thing missing is the handshake. This population don’t like to make purchases with a credit card. These buyers have some “skin” in the deal beyond providing a credit card number and registering on auction side.

I hope a work around can be found, at least for purchases that require a FFL.

It’s clear with all the reasons you stated above (and many more) that GunBroker corporate did not think this over completely. I encourage all to voice your opinions via the support system and or social media. Make them rethink their poor decision!
