Wow
Lucky man/Unlucky man
Been following this story, but heard the search was called off. Glad he was found. There is another boat missing from here, and they called off the search this past Wednesday. That sucks.
One lucky guy to have survived. Glad it ended well for him. That had to be so scary.
I do not know of any other boats missing.
10 days after heading to sea, 3 fishermen are missing off Georgia amid wide search by Coast Guard | AP News
Prayers for the missing man's family.
My dad and I went salmon fishing on a charter out of Westport years ago. It was some seriously rough seas and of the 10 people on the boat only 3 of us weren't too seasick to fish. My dad, myself, and one other gentleman on the boat managed to catch enough salmon to limit all 10 folks on the boat.
If I never see water that rough again it'll be just fine with me.
This boat sunk further north, but yes, that Grays Harbor bar is a nasty nasty thing. Hundreds of shipwrecks crossing that bar over the last 200+ years.
Did I read that correctly? Had it left from Westport then traveled north?
Yes the boat left from Westport and traveled north to the vicinity of Cape Flattery. Cape Flattery is the very most northern point on the Olympic Peninsula, and very close to Canadian water.
